Cure International

As a part of the Kid’s Marathon, we are encouraging kids to think beyond themselves and to Run so other kids can Walk! We have partnered with Cure.org as a way to reach out and support kids across the world.

There are several ways to contribute:

  • Donations can be made directly online through the website or donations can be made at the Kids Marathon on April 10th. Any money donated for and by the kids will go directly to Cure.org. Visit Garden Spot Village Marathon at Cure.org to make a donation.
  • One way for kids to raise money and make their miles count for even more than their personal achievements is to get sponsors for each mile they run. Whatever is raised per mile will go directly to Cure to sponsor a surgery for another child so that he or she can walk. Visit Cure.org to learn more.

Some fun facts about CURE:

CURE children have conditions like clubfoot, and bowed legs. Without treatment, they won’t go to school and will have little hope for a future. Many will die from their condition.

That’s why CURE exists. We’re a non-profit organization that operates hospitals and programs in 29 countries worldwide where patients experience the life-changing message of God’s love for them, receiving surgical treatment regardless of gender, religion, ethnicity, or ability to pay.

Since our first hospital opened in Kenya in 1998, we have seen over 2.1 million patients, provided over 150,000 life-changing surgeries, and trained over 6,600 medical professionals.

Cure International headquarters is located in our “backyard” in Lemoyne, PA

The Garden Spot Village Marathon is a USATF certified Boston Marathon Qualifier Course located in the midst of beautiful Lancaster County farmland.
